I gather information in every possible way. The process is very challenging. When I immerse myself in information retrieval, I lose the count of hours, days, weeks... Unfortunately, a lot of lighthouses have disappeared without trace, without being recorded in any visual way.
If you have any images of old lighthouses in photographs, engravings, postcards, old books and paintings, I would be grateful if you share them. You can do this in any way you prefer, by sending them as a gift, re-photographing, scanning and forwarding to me by email or regular mail.
I will list the donators of valuable support in the list of sponsors of the encyclopaedia. If you have doubts whether the object is a lighthouse – please send it anyway. Other navigational facilities – buoys, pilot towers, daymarks, lighthouse ships are equally valuable.
I am particularly interested in old naval maps, pilot charts, old marinistic books from the 18th century – the beginning of the 20th century (particularly from the Tsarist period), also rare, limited edition, non-identifiable postcards and other unique sources. I also collect information on the lighthouses of all Russia, and Latin America. These are my future areas of engagement.
